It's a Friday!

Sunny Friday morning and I am feeling strangely elated with the prospect of the weekend. The reason is that I will be doing glorious nothing and give myself a rest and watch DVD’s and drink some wino. This week has gone nuts again at work and next week won’t be any easier when looking at my calendar. Ce la bloody vie!

Morning count to approaching holidays is dwindling down nicely and the first trip is here after mere 20 sleeps. Can’t wait!!! Happy Friday ;)

Welcome weekend

It is Friday and not too soon! This week has been mildly annoying with the monsters being on half term holidays. Covent Garden has been over run with the little pip squeaks and spotty sulky teenagers who do not know how to behave followed by indifferent parents who are too knackered to pay any attention to “the little dears” who are tearing about the place. *shivers*

Work has been relatively quiet this week, mainly for the reason above as people seem to want to spend time with their offspring. Ed & Larry are looking suitably bored as well in the photo shop across the road and the Big Issue sales lady is belting out her sales pitch in the corner with a little less gusto than during the week. Good news is that the weather has finally turned and the wintery winds have blown off and currently it is positively balmy +7 degrees and that is making a hell of a lot of difference to my mood.

This weekend film professional extraordinaire Mr TK from Finland is making a guest appearance in SW19 and we shall proceed to have a long leisurely pub lunch tomorrow with few beverages thrown in naturally. More of that on Sunday and hopefully with photographic evidence ;)

Best foot forward part 3

Just over a year ago I got me a pair of MBT's and I have worn them all the time except when I am in my glad rags. I also got a pair of MBT sandals for the summer so the warm weather wear was covered as well. And they have indeed worked a treat and I will probably keep buying these shoes as long as I can walk. But when you use something day in day out, they wear out quite nicely in a year.

So I went and purchased me a new pair from ebay for a most argreeable price of £39.99 with a next day delivery. Sweet!

Brain crash

As you know, I have had a dodgy boyfriend or two in the past who loved to smoke themselves silly with hash or grass and then they proceeded to eat everything in the house that didn't move and even if it did, they probably ate it anyway.

Talk To Frank are launching a new campaign to alert the weed smoking idiots about the dangers of the so called "harmless drug", cannabis. Luckily I don't have to worry about any f*%$#ed up space head any more and life indeed is good ;)

Law & Order: UK

I have been a big fan of all the Law & Order series from the States and I am happy that they have now come up with Law & Order: UK, which starts next week on ITV. Interesting choice for the cast is what makes the expectations sky high. Eye candy will be served in the form of Jamie Bamber who plays DS Matt Devlin and my already once featured treat Ben Daniels as the senior Crown Prosecutor James Steel. This should be good. This should be very good :)

Heroic Eye Candy

Whilst waiting for the next season of Heroes to continue next week on BBC2, here is a reminder of what I have been missing. Milo Ventimiglia who plays Peter Petrelli in the Heroes is single again according to the news. So why not feast our eyes on this fine figure of a man *sigh*

My Valentine

My annual Valentine's card comes without a fail from my sponsored K9 Monica who lives in a The Dogs Trust flat in Shoreham. How cute!

Natural Thursday

This Thursday dawned sunny and put me in a good mood straight away. In the tube there was a rare sight when this bloke stood up and offered his seat to a lady. I am glad he shamed the other guys who just lifted their newspapers a bit higher to cover their faces and it made me smile :)

Today is the B-Day of long dead Charles Darwin who was a very clever chap. He introduced the concept of natural selection to the world, which the doctors these days are doing their best to make redundant with all the life prolonging medication. I really don't believe we were ever meant to live to our 90's not to mention 70's. But hey, that's evolution for you! Shame about the nature being left behind.

Last night I watched the second part of the documentary about Terry Pratchett's first year of life after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. There was a a dementia specialist in the States who stated that it is just bad luck if you get it. No other reason but just bad luck or maybe it is the natural selection kicking in after all. It was most sad to see and I sincerely hope that I won't go that way or I will be at the Swiss clinic faster than I can say deterioration.

Blonde guys

Two blonde guys were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walked by and asked them what they were doing.

"We're supposed to measure the height of this flagpole," said blonde guy number one, "but we don't have a ladder."

The woman took a wrench from her purse and loosened some bolts. The guys helped her lay down the flagpole. Then the woman got a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and said, "Eighteen feet, six inches," and walked away.

Blonde guy number two shook his head and laughed. "Isn't that just like a girl? We ask for the height and she gives us the length!"

Ta'raa!

Last night my mate Glenn and I made our way to The Grosvenor in Stockwell to our old friends Melina and Jonna's leaving do. They are moving back to Finland on Tuesday after over a decade of living here in London town. It is truly an end of an era. *sigh*

Well, after the dropless January. This was the first time on the beer and my poor liver is screaming with discomfort today. But this drinking lark is just like riding a bike ;)

Northern exposure

This gorgeous photograph was taken by Steven John Kazlowski, 39, who has spent the last 16 years travelling to the Arctic to take pictures in the region. His new book 'The Last Polar Bear' features images taken over the last five years which he hopes will highlight the animal' plight.

Bad week for bad leg

This past week has been total agony on my bad leg. And this weeks Cee U Next Thursday reward goes to Merton Council who in their infinite wisdom (?!) didn't do NOT A THING about the snow that became ice once it packed onto the pavements. Not even a little bit of sand on the pavements to stop people falling over, which I did on my way to work Tuesday morning hurting my already gammy leg.

They probably just thought that if we close our eyes and pretend it has not happened and it will all go away. It has not but luckily this morning it was + 4 degrees and raining, but the pavements were still lethal. I proceeded to walk on the road, diving in between parked cars when I heard a car approaching from behind, which was still ten times safer than walking on the pavements.

All you hear from authorities on the TV that this happens only once every 10 to 20 years or so and there is no point of getting the proper equipment to look after the roads or the transport system. I am happy that they are so confident in this great economic downturn that in their opinion it is more affordable to loose £1,2 billion per day than create a working contingency plan for adverse weather conditions. Bankers with a W…

Welcome back Keano!

One piece of excellent news on this stupid weather day in London town! Robbie Keane is back in the fold at the White Heart Lane, which I am almost deliriously happy about. He did break my heart six months ago and it stung for a long time, he thought he was going somewhere better for him. But all will be forgiven and forgotten darling if you get them goals in ;)

As Monday it self was not depressing enough...

The weather got stupid as well :(
