Striking idiocy

The eternal tube strike was on yesterday once again and as always, I had no difficulty getting to work or home. It is getting rather tiresome and tedious though with these absolutely useless strikes and riots (including the ever stupid students!) as nothing will change and 'power to the people' does not seem to work anymore, except in cyber space.

The w..ker fat cat Bob Crow had audacity to say in the news: "I will not be recommending any action this side of 2 January, but come 2011 we will have to consider escalating strikes to more than one day"

And I'll be singing:

"Bob Crow is a w**ker, Bob Crow is a w**ker
La laa laa la hey , la laa la la hey!
Bob Crow is a w**ker, Bob Crow is a w**ker,
La laa laa la hey, la laa la la hey!"

Srictly Jiving

Saturdays Strictly Come Dancing saw my favorite couple Kara & Artem dacing a jive. By no means was this their best dance, but still very entertaining and on a cold day it looks like a good way to keep warm ;)

Un petit Karelian blonde à Paris

Merci beau Paris!

Paris was good and then some. The Eurostar was brilliant and what a civilized way to travel compared to flying. No stupid hanging around airports for hours and no restrictions on liquids.

Food was good, wine better and plenty of French male eye candy was observed along with more Monet paintings in one place than ever before. It was nice to get so close and personal with these master pieces of art which I would of never believed would happen.

Min and I managed to cover all the land marks between us and the weather treated us nicely as the sun was out for most part of the two days. I simply loved Paris and I cannot believe how I have never traveled there before as it is literally only two and a half hours away on the train, but I will for sure in the future.

The Eiffel Tower

At Rue Cambon

Monet exhibiton in Grand Palais

Legendary Moulin Rouge

Video is in the making and it should follow sometime today.

Aujourd'hui Londres - demain Paris

My beloved Tottenham breezed through to the next stage in the Champions League comfortably last night. Next game, win or loose, we are through! Love me love my team ;)

Finally, tomorrow the awaited Paris trip is here. Min and I will be boarding the 07.27 Eurostar train service in St Pancras International station and we should arrive in Paris 10.56 central European time. Weather looks to be cold, but the bistros will be warm and all the Monet's beautiful. Life is good and report will follow on Sunday :)

Visitor from Palm Springs

Mr Rockhill from Palm Springs is in town and he just popped over to say hello to me at work. He is on a holiday with friends and they will actually be in Paris on Friday as well. It would be too funny if I bumbed into them over there.

He was also bearing gifts and he got me an excellent Tillman & Friends calendar for 2011 as well as a special edition coffee mug. He also told me that Tillman and friends will be again on a huge float on the Rose Bowl Parade on New Years Day and I will have try and catch that on the internet.

It was nice to see Mr Rockhill again even though just briefly :)

Friday the 29th April 2011

That is when according to Call Me Dave the party starts! And the following Monday 2nd May is the UK May Day Bank holiday so it will be a loooong weekend for us commoners to have a good old knees up!

And if the Royal Wedding is not enough to celebrate, I can always raise a glass or two for my cousin Min as it is her b-day.

Sad but true

Richard Littlejohn tells it so well in his column today:

"After me, children: My Sharia Armour"

"When I went to Sunday school, a million years ago, we were taught to love our neighbour.

I don’t recall ever being told that we should take an ‘eye for an eye’ literally. Or that the punishment for homosexuality was death.

Aged six, we didn’t even know what homosexuality was, even though we’d been warned to steer clear of that chap who was always hanging round the swimming pool. We were also taught that Jesus was King of the Jews - not that the Jews were plotting to take over the world and should all be killed.

But thousands of children in Britain are now being indoctrinated in the brutal ways of Islamic Sharia law, according to an investigation by BBC’s Panorama.

At weekend schools, young Muslims, aged between six and 15, are receiving lessons in how to hack off a criminal’s hand or foot. They are being told that the penalty for gay sex is execution and that Jews are ‘reprehensible’ Zionists bent on world domination.

This filth is part of the standard curriculum at 40 weekend schools in this country. To no one’s great surprise, it is bankrolled by our good ‘friends’ the Saudis.

If this kind of hatred was peddled by any other group in Britain, they would be prosecuted and the schools shut down.

But, yet again, militant Islam seems to be immune from the usual strictures of the laws against incitement.

We are told over and over again that it is difficult to single out Islamic organisations for investigation. All religions operate weekend schools.

Yes, but Jewish and Anglican schools don’t preach amputation and murder. At my Sunday school, we made farmyard animals out of Plasticine to put round the manger. What next: teaching kids how to turn plastic explosives into a suicide belt? The authorities are scared stiff of offending ‘peace-loving’ Muslims, so they turn a blind eye to violent jihadists in our schools and on our streets.

When Channel 4’s Dispatches went undercover and exposed the hatred being preached in mosques, the bold West Midlands police investigated the programme’s producers, not the preachers of death.

If this latest exposé runs true to form, it’s the makers of Panorama who can expect a visit from Plod. "

"... and this line tells me you stole 50p from your daughter's piggy bank."

Strictly Smooth

Yesterday Strictly Come Dancing came live from Blackpool. Kara & Artem danced a beautiful American Smooth, even though poor Artem had a neck injury from rehearsals. Simply beautiful *deep sigh*

Arse..l 2 - Tottenham 3

Most delicious win over Arse..l. I am happy, I am giddy and I sing (in the tune to Adams Family) for Tottenham :)

"He's just as good as Hoddle
he's better than Chris Waddle
his mrs is a model
he's Rafa Van Der Vaart."

Quiet Friday

Absolutely nothing to report. Weather is sunny, underground worked brilliantly and it is nice and quiet at work. Later on there will be snacks and red vino.

This time next week I have just about arrived to Paris, which will be good :)

Strictly Argentine

Last Saturday in Strictly Come Dancing it was the time for Kara & Artem to perform an Argentine Tango, and they did it with skill and poise. Warms me up to no end on a cold, wet and gray morning in London town.

Congrats Will and Kate!

I have always been potty about Royal weddings and to my delight FINALLY His Royal Highness Prince W got his finger out and got Miss Middleton to agree to marry him. They look good together and I wish all the happiness to them!

The wedding will be a welcome party for this country and I will most definetely celebrate accordingly on the wedding day, once it gets confirmed. Can't wait and I might buy me a new hat ;)

Would you want to know?

This news yesterday got me thinking once again about the possibility of cursed dementia happening to me.

"Scientists at Brunel University have developed a test which they believe could eventually indicate whether people in their 40s have a higher chance of going on to develop the condition.

Although it does not offer a cast-iron prediction that the patient will develop or be free from dementia, it does allow those displaying indicators - tiny areas of damage in the brain - to receive early treatment and adapt their lifestyles as a preventative measure."

This test might be a better alternative before booking appointment at a Swiss clinic (or maybe this might be the time to do it whilst all my faculties (?) are still more or less intact!). This is especially because I live alone, IE not married or with a partner, and there wont be anyone to help me with stuff, if it starts to happen to me at any stage later on.

There would be time to get my affairs in order and somehow try to book a care home maybe somewhere warm where I could go safely let my brain melt in beautiful surroundings. Where do I sign up for this test?

Would I want to know? YES, I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD.

Lottery dreams

I have never been fashionable and most of my clothes are cheap and cheerful. But for some reason I have always hankered after a Chanel suit.

I have mentioned before that if I ever win the lottery, no 31 Rue Cambon will be one of the first stops to get me a hand stitched suit made to measure.

Then I could park my rich derrier in a fabulous Paris hotel to wait for the suit to be made and get ready for Tahiti where I would spend considerable time in a hammock swaying gently between two palm trees with a cold alcoholic beverage in hand...

A girl can dream... *deep sigh*

My dear friend Heavy is adding candles to her B-Day cake today for the 39th time.

Next year it is time to welcome her to the Club 40's and I believe there will be a celebration on a larger scale.

Have brilliant day my friend :)

Life without F*C*book

After the epiphany to leave the F*C*book, my existence has been somewhat but positively different. My natural nosiness has had to take a back seat but that is really not a bad thing at all. I am very happy that I did leave as endless security settings and "friends" are not a good thing.

Where as my mate John had a bad and totally unnecessary crappy experience in F*C*book and I just don't get it why anyone would bother. *shaking my head*

Yesterday I read that a late night comedian has arranged a National Unfriend Day or "NUD" for the 17th November to get rid of anyone who really is NOT a friend. Luckily I don't have to do anything as I got rid of the lot in one fell swoop ;)

She Spy

In the news yesterday was a thing that MI5 apparently has a problem recruiting women because of the violence that is portrayed in BBC drama Spooks. Yep, I can see why that might put women off as physical violence is never pleasant and you would have to be able to do battle at a drop of a hat if the situation requires it.

I actually believe it might be a good career choice if I didn't have a gammy leg and if I wasn't totally unfit, but I do believe I would have the patience of being a good researcher somewhere in the cogs of the huge machine that is intelligence services. But it will never happen as I would have to become a British national. Ah well, never mind!

Sheriff of Area 5: serious eye candy

During the weekends I have plenty of time to catch up with past weeks late TV. One of my favorites, but one I can only watch during day light hours, is HBO's True Blood.

I quite fancy Sam Merlotte, and Jason Stackhouse is not bad on the optic nerve but the one I lust after is Eric Northman played by a west of Finland actor the good looking, gorgeous and simply dreamy Alexander Skarsgård.

I do like my men blonde, blue eyed and quite bad...Why do you think I remain single...? Because so far they only exist in TV or in my dreams. But if they existed in reality I would be in deep deep trouble, trust me...*deepest sigh*

Strictly magnífico!

Phaaaaaaawr! What an amazing Salsa was performed by my favorites Kara & Artem last night to open the Strictly Come Dancing show. She is getting better and better and he is getting cuter and cuter!

All the remaining contestants are good apart from quite terrible Gavin Henson, but even he has somewhat improved. This year the caliber of celebrity dancers is so high that the show is simply brilliant and simply must see TV.

Last night in the garden

Last night in in SW19 was once again like living in down town war zone with fire works and sounds of explosion going off everywhere to celebrate the Guy Fawkes night. Well, if you cant beat them, join them and so Min and I fired up the fire in the garden.

There is something utterly satisfying and primal about making fire. Although we only burned some sticks and what might not for about couple of hours, it was nice to hang out in the garden on a dark but mild November evening. And of course there was red vino, which was nice. I slept like a baby last night, which was simply brilliant. Life is good :)

Happy B-Day Young Vic!

How time flies!!! My nephew Young Sir Vic is already respectable age of 3 and making almost sensible sentences. Life can only get noisier by the day now in my Big Brothers house ;)

Happy B-Day Young Vic and here is a timeless song for you from
the year I was born!

Vin à vendredi

After a semi pants week this Friday already feels sweet as a sweet thing and as the French would say: Finalement nous sommes aujourd'hui vendredi! And mere three weeks to the Paris trip and I can't wait!

Alors, tonight there will be red vino so allons-y! Life is good!

November Wednesday

This strike day dawned sunny and mild 14 degrees here in London town. I got to work way too early as Northern Line was working perfectly apart Colliers Wood station being closed. Very pleasant 15 min morning stroll to Tooting Broadway solved that miniscule problem. Just as well that I was early as everyone else got delayed by various reasons. Once again: FU*K YOU BOB CROW and your useless strikes! *two finger salute*

But what enhanced my good mood drastically this morning to enable me to cope with life in London town, was my beloved Tottenham showed the reigning champions Inter Milan how it's done last night! Last 16 of Champions League here we come!!! Love me, love my team ;)
