You Go Girl Award

This lady deserves a medal and an award for bravery. Way to defend herself and other women!

"Police chief Abul Khaer told reporters: 'As he tried to rape her, the lady cut his manhood off with a knife.

'She then wrapped up the penis in a piece of polythene and brought it to the Jhalakathi police station as evidence of the crime.'

The married father-of-five is expected to be arrested once he has recovered."

Latino flawoured weekend

Lovely quiet weekend continues. So far the Latino influences on TV have been greater than the British weather outside.

Friday I watched the American Idol finale and whilst I was most impressed with all the contestants, it was Marc Anthony's performance that got to me. He is probably more known over here as Mr Jennifer Lopez, but I can assure you that he is a rather engaging performer. Phwaaaar!

Then Barcelona showed ManU how it is done and went ahead to win the Champions League 2011. Watching Barcelona was like watching men dance with ball in their feet.

Then I watched from the the tape BBC4's marvellous Latin Music USA part two where the birth of Salsa music was charted. Really good stuff and few deep sighs got out of me as I would love to go and dance.

Well, my gammy leg says no and that is the end of that. *deep sigh*

Now I am off to get the Sunday papers and then the horizontal excistence will continue. Tomorrow is a bank holiday and more of the same to be expected ;)

May Friday

Friday is finally here and next Monday being a bank holiday, a sweet long weekend is ahead. No plans what so ever, just chilling indoors as the weather is not going to be so great. Sweet white vino & DVD's and a TV date with Dr Who tomorrow. Nice....

Fast weather and fast cars

Sharp rain showers here in London town today. Mr BO has upped and left with his entourage and moved on to France.

But here in the Covent Garden has been some excitement in the form of the start of the Gumball 3000 rally from the Covent Garden Piazza.

One of them (?) outside my door.

Volcanic burb and ping pong

Midweek and stuff is happening. A volcano has burbed and gone kaboom again in Iceland and it is causing all sorts of travelling problems.

The President of US of A Mr BO had to arrive a day early here to London town as to avoid the Airforce One getting schtuck in the ash cloud. You can imagine how happy the American embassy staff was here when they received the call; "We are coming a day early so be ready". Oh to be a fly on the wall...*snigger*

But here they got and Mr BO even found time to play ping pong with Call Me Dave at the Globe Academy. Awwwww....isn't it lovely when they play together nicely.

McFly On The Wall

After all the dissapointing news about men, it pleases me to no end that to my enjoyment Channel 5 has brought out a series called McFly On The Wall.

I quite enjoy their music but even more than that I feast with my eyes on these fine young men with gorgeous bodies. I watched the first episode last night and I can say that I experienced impure thoughts galore indeed! *giggling*

Alas, one can only look and not touch and my favourite eye candy is Danny Jones purely because he can kick a mean football too.

More men behaving badly

Couple of Premier League footballers have been "putting it about" where they shouldn't have put it. They went to get an injuction from court to stop the press from publishing the fact that they are love rats. Guess what boys...Internet happened!!! *dirty snigger*

Also Conan the ex-Governor has been spreading his seed and suddenly dividing inheritance becomes more complicated by the day. Seriously, did he EVER at any point stop to think? With his head I mean...Don't worry Mr Barbarian, they will be back...to haunt you that is. *still sniggering*

Come on guys!!! Is it really that difficult to keep it in your pants? Yes, it is seems to be the general concensus.

It'z Monday

After a quiet non eventful gorgeous chill out weekend here we are once again; Monday morning. *deep sigh*

Men behaving badly

This week in the news it has been men behaving badly galore. Here is my opinion of two of the most discusting ones.

The IMF dude has been jailed and denied bail in New York for an attack on a woman that they actually can actually prove. But as always, more women come out to media with sad stories of having had to yield in a "casting couch" manner to further their careers. Then there are the prossies, etc etc....

He seems to be sorry, well at least for that he was caught. Once again a man in a powerful position who thinks he can treat women as he pleases. Surprised? …unfortunately not.

Then there is the right (but not really) honourable Justice Secretary in this country who said that not all rapes are serious and if the perp says sorry in court and admits their guilt their sentences get halved.

On which f*!$ing reality/planet does he live on??? He then had to back pedal in the media and stated that he will in the future "choose my words more carefully".

You can do that Kenneth, but the damage is already done as you have just managed to belittle most if not all rape victims (of both sexes). He "looks" sorry too but most likely is not but has to appear to be.

I am sure this will evoke a much needed conversation, but it won’t change the fact that some men sadly still live in the year of the pond life in their attitudes.

So nothing changes and life goes on. But it is Friday and I will have a drink or too with my dinner.

The Making of Dogcilla

Dogs Trust placed an incredible large nodding dog on top of a building in West London last week. It can be seen if you are driving A40 near Hangar Lane Ealing. Absolutely brilliant!!!

Hump day

Grey day in London town. Not a lot is happening, work is thankfully quiet so far, no disgruntled terrorist group has tried to blow anything up so I can't really complain.

And so my life plods on with my thoughts on the next holiday which is only 56 sleeps away. *deep sigh*

Happy travels!

The space shuttle Endeavour blasted off to it's final mission STS-134.

Stay safe dudes and I love the mission picture!

Finland is the WORLD CHAMPION!

The news of Finland's winning the men's World Hockey Championship tournament finally reached me this morning.

The oldest enemy west of Finland (also called Sweden) just died on their skates and Finland went on to win the match with no doubt score of 6 - 1.

Way to go Lions!

Lisbon 2011

Back home once again after beautiful holiday in the fabulous Lisbon. Min and I flew there and back this time with TAP and it was brilliant including free wine with your food (included in the ticket price!).

Our hotel Turim Europa was also excellent with 4* rooms, free internet, gorgeous breakfast and a 2 hour happy hour in the hotel bar ;)

Friends, food and fabulous is what happenend again and it is hard to articulate the happy glow with a smile that is still attached to my face. Well, the video is in the making and it will hopefully convey my experience better than words.

Alas, now it is time for the weekely food shopping and laundry. Back to real life then *deep sigh*.

Good life in Lisbon

This morning we headed to the marvellous Ocenario and spend some time watching all kinds of fish, penguins, sea otters and amazing huge old turtles. Absolutely gorgeous!

After lunch came back to the hotel and plonked my self here in the hotel bar with my laptop to write this and enjoy a chilled grande cerveja whilst Min went on a mission to make some purchases in the shopping centre in Amoreiras.

Tonight more of the same as last couple of nights and tomorrow morning we'll head to Cascais and observe some beach life along with few cold beverages. Life is good ;)

Last nights dinner, which was delish...

Beautiful Lisbon

This morning dawned here in beautiful Lisbon without cloud in the sky and the temperatures soon climbed up to +30 with a grateful breeze.

Old friends have been met again, plenty of cheeks have been kissed and fun has been the operative word where ever we have been.

This morning we took a ferry from Cais De Sodre and walked around the abonded harbour side before elevating our selves on the panoramic lift Poca De Vento to the village of Almeida from where we headed to Christo Rei that is watching over our beloved Lisboa.

We had fun up there, felt really blessed(??) and the scenery was brilliant. Highly recommended if you are ever this way.

Tonight dinner with friends and tomorrow more adventures in lovely Lisbon!

Greeting from Lisbon Hard Rock Cafe Ms B!

Lisbon baby!

The lovely sunny day finally has dawned when I get to go back with Min to Lisbon, my favorite European capital. I take my little laptop with me and if the weather, the scenery and consuming cold beverages allows, I will try and post here ;)

Preste atenção para fora a Lisboa, nós estão vindo...

Briefly about politics

I don't take to real politics with much interest, but to my relief the few people who bothered to go and vote in the AV vote, the majority said a resounding NO. Good people!

The proportionate voting system in Finland has driven me to despair forever and a day. I have already made the decision not to vote anymore in any other elections than presidential ones, and that is because the one vote that I have goes directly to who it is given to.

I think Richard Littlejohn put it quite nicely in his column on April 26th:

"T.H.A.V.

I think I may be coming round to the argument in favour of Alternative Votes.

I've worked out that under AV, even if Spurs finish fifth this season and because most people hate Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea we could still qualify for the Champions League as everyone's second favourite team."

And that is all I have to say about that.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous George!

My hearts desire the gorgeous George Clooney celebrates his 50th B-Day today.

As this day falls on a Friday I will happily raise couple of glasses of sweet white vino to commemorate this occasion of his gorgeousness.

Have a good weekend George darling and party hard!

Welcome rainy day

After quite a few consecutive days of sunshine this morning dawned grey but relatively warm. During the night I woke up to a sound of rain against my window and when I left for work the smell in the air was very summer like. As I am writing this, the rain has started falling down again quietly over Covent Garden making the streets all shiny.

My thoughts are running away to the impending Lisbon trip and only one more day to work after today it is getting surprisingly difficult to concentrate. Simply CAN'T WAIT! Luckily I have the whole weekend to pack slowly and dream about all the food and drink and sights that await. *deep sigh*

Tuesday is the new Monday

After the two long weekends I jolted up in my bed this morning as the alarm blared not quite sure where I was or who I was.

However, I did manage to make myself presentable before joining the other sulky hoardes of fellow commuters in the crammed Northern Line trains.

Once I got to Leicester Square I could not get out through the gates as my faitful 5 year old Oyster Card died without a sound. The nice guard checked it and advised me to get a replacement and let me through the gate. Oh blast...

But another 5 year thing today is that I have been with this company that long and my Boss bought me a cake. Nice!

Sunny weather continues and thankfully the really evil Northerly wind is subsiding slowly. ONLY 6 sleeps to Lisbon and 3 more to get up to work. Life is good ;)

Wedding weekend

Oh what a blast we had over the three days and the phrase "How about a one more drink?" was uttered a many occasion. Life was excellent!
